Gulf World – Panama City Beach FL

Guld World in Panama City Beach is a great place for the family! In a nutshell, it is very similar to an aquarium mixed with a miniature Sea World, in my opinion. There were various animal exhibits and several pretty cool shows, incluyding a dolphin, and sea lion / seal show. In addition, they have what they call “chats” throughout the day. These are great as they are up close and personal with the animals. The staff gives some great information on whichever animal they are working with and these are great oppotunirties for some nice pictures, depending on the crowd size of course. We were here in the off-season so we had a front row view for everything.

It was December when we made the trip to Gulf World, so the parking lot had plenty of spaces and there was no lines in sight throughout the park. There were, unfortunately, a few exhibits closed for renovations since it was the off-season, but the conservation efforts the park stands for makes up for the “inconvenience” of not seeing all they have to offer. We paid about $32 per adult ticket, which again goes to help fund the conservation and wildlife efforts. The animal shows are also filled with scripts emphasizing the need for everyone to play their part in saving the oceans and animals from the waste that we produce. Gulf World is super easy to find also, located just a few turns off of Highway 98 which runs right through the coast.

Our overall rating for the Gulf World attraction is a 7 our of 10. There was a lot of cool aspects and a few not so awesome, but hey, nothing is perfect. So, if you’re looking for a fun place to take the family while on vacation in Panama City, Destin, or Fort Walton areas, then give Gulf Wolrd a try, it is bound to provide a little fun for everyone!
